What is the Insights plan?
Insights is read-only cloud cost reporting for $99/month. There is no agent to install and Substrate connects with view-only permissions, so it can never change anything in your account. You get a breakdown of where your AWS spend goes, scheduled reports, and portfolio-level findings such as your waste ratio and spend concentration. Spend ingestion covers AWS today — GCP and Azure bills are not read yet, though resource discovery works across all three. There is no performance fee, because Insights never applies a change. Move up to Starter for per-resource right-sizing and idle-resource recommendations, and to let Substrate apply them.
How does the subscription + usage model work?
Each tier includes a fixed monthly subscription fee with included resource allocations. Usage beyond the included amounts is billed at per-unit overage rates. You only pay for what you actually use beyond your plan's inclusions.
What is the performance fee?
When our AI optimization engine reduces your cloud costs, we take a share of the verified savings and you keep the rest. The share is set by your plan and falls as you grow: 20% on Starter, 18% on Growth, and 15% on Enterprise, or a negotiated rate under an Enterprise contract. We only charge when we deliver measurable results.
Can I switch tiers at any time?
Yes! Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing period. Enterprise contracts have custom terms.
What's included in each tier?
Each tier includes a set number of BYOC clusters, secrets, CI/CD integrations, preview environments, and team members. Usage-based charges apply for vCPU hours, storage, egress, and log ingestion beyond included amounts.
